How interesting are caves? Eassa was asking questions about caves and how they form. And this is how caves became our unit of study for the term. I struggled to find children resources on caves and cave animals. The local librarian was just as surprised. Hopefully some new resources will be ordered.
We are focusing on: the various cave formations; naming parts eg chambers and flowstone; looking at caves in Victoria (Buchan Caves in Gippsland); and learning about the Olm Salamander (most fascinating – there is a great National Geographic online resource on it).
We plan to visit Buchan Caves when the lockdown eases inshaallah. How awesome would that be?
