Eassa today on Zoom with his teacher and class:
Teacher: did you have a haircut, Eassa?
Eassa (with an excited thick Iraqi accent): Yes, I was in garage, I see cutter. I cut my hair. It a big cut in the middle. Then my dad cut it all.
Teacher: so you started your haircut, Eassa.
Eassa (with confidence bordering on pride): Yes! And now my hair so spiky everywhere (big smile). .
This is the hundredth time, Eassa retells what happened on that eventful Sunday afternoon when he had gone out with his dad to work in the backyard. Every time, his pride with what he had done grows. He told me later today, after he spent time with his visiting grandfather, “grandad thinks my haircut is wonderful (تخبل). He likes me with hair and he likes me without hair. I look good in both”. .
This little person provides my household with endless entertainment and surprises. 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️😅
